Romantic Idyll
Within my second-year project Romantic Idyll, I explored romantic aesthetics centring around the key words of luxuriant, exquisite, abundant, delicate, elegant and fertile. I aimed to explore romantic aesthetics through the use of heavy embellishment and beading. Many of the elements I featured within the project had romantic connotations – such as pomegranates representing the Greek god of love Aphrodite, and flowers which are heavily associated with romance. Designing for the Haute Couture market, I challenged myself to design for fashions highest market, pushing my skills in a way I had never done before.
This project was what originally inspired my degree project brief, as when I got started exploring romantic visuals, I felt there was so much more to explore.
